Virginia Falls
Fly over the Canadian wilderness on board one of our floatplanes towards the prestigious Virginia falls, twice as high as Niagara Falls!
Departing Watson Lake YT, our experienced pilot will take you to the heart of the Nahanni National Park Reserve. This very scenic flight takes 1h to 1h20 depending on the airplane. Upon landing on the river, you'll be welcomed by the park crew who will gladly share stories and information about the area. A 20mins walk will take you to the top of the falls - the perfect spot for an improvised lunch by the thunderous symphony of this natural wonder. After 3h onsite, we will head back to Watson Lake.
Add-ons
We can complete the day with a hop to Rabbitkettle Lake and / or Glacier Lake.
- From Rabbitkettle it’s possible to arrange a visit of the famous Tufa Mounds with the personal of Parks Canada
- Glacier lake is a gorgeous lake fed by the Glaciers surrounding the area. It’s also the starting point for climbers and hikers going to the Cirque of the Unclimbables.
Shared flights
How does that work?
In order to make the Nahanni sightseeing tours affordable to more people, Northern Rockies Air has been offering “Shared flights”.
The principle is pretty simple. Since the cost of an charter remains the same no matter the number of passengers, filling up the airplane allows to drop the rate per person.
We have preset dates for shared flights, often because some parties have already inquired for these dates. Now it’s only a matter of finding additional people to make the flights happen. Check the dates available in the calendar. If they don’t match with your schedule, feel free to inquire for more dates.
The day trip to Virginia Falls costs $920+GST per person from Watson Lake (YT), for a minimum of 4 people.
