We can drop you off and pick you up by floatplane at any of these locations.
And to add more options:
- Nahanni Butte: we can land at the airport with our C206…but can’t take any external load so inflatable canoes would be a must have.
- Blackstone: we have a canoe trailer and can accommodate small groups of 1-4 people for a road ride back to Watson Lake.

You can fly with Air North from majors airports across Canada directly to Whitehorse.

Northern Rockies Air does not rent out canoes. The closest place to rent is Whitehorse. We have a partnership with Up North Adventures which team will be more than happy to help you.

You have a couple of options depending on where your canoe trip ends:
- a float plane pick-up is possible at all locations
- a land plane (C206) pick-up is possible out of Nahanni Butte, providing you have an inflatable canoe (no external load).
- road transportation is possible out of Blackstone. The ride is about 10h long. We have a canoe trailer and can accommodate groups of 4 people. -
1 - invest in an inflatable canoe! Hard shell canoes have to be tied outside the airplane, leading to a surcharge of 10%.
2 - bring more people. Your charter flight will cost the same if you’re 1 or 3 people, but you can spread the cost, hence reducing the rate per person.
3 - Blackstone allows road pick-up, which will be cheaper than a flight. BUT it’s also longer. If you are on a budget AND a time crunch, then bring your inflatable canoe and end your trip in Nahanni Butte where we can pick you up with our C206 (32% cheaper rate per mile).

We can always come and get you by airplane. It will be a 1.5h ride, compared to 10h by road.
If you’re on a budget as well, we recommend to invest in an inflatable canoe and ask for a lift out of Nahanni Butte a few miles upstream of Blackstone.
